1 - Mentoring

​We are excited to promote two mentoring schemes designed to support anaesthetic residents throughout their training. Whilst one of these schemes has been reinvigorated following feedback from residents, the other scheme is a new initiative for Severn. Each scheme offers a different approach to mentoring, but they are designed to complement one another and together provide a well-rounded support system.

Mentoring has been shown to:

Whether you're navigating preparing for exams or interviews, or planning your future career path, mentoring can be a valuable resource every step of the way. By engaging in both schemes, residents can access a broader network of support and maximise the benefits of this initiative.
We strongly encourage all residents to get involved in both mentoring schemes and take full advantage of the opportunities they offer.

Note from SWAT:
SPA is run independently of the main site by a few of your local elected reps (Nicky and Neil). Their details are in the mentoring section above and more resources are also available on the deanery website.
We also believe in improving the resources for trainee wellbeing. Although these are no replacement for structured programmes do feel free to check them out - these include events such as the annual Severn WELLbeing day (SWELL) and the anaesthetic allotment (The Propofol Patch).​
